There are 147 standard campsites in the forested camping area and 20 utility sites that accommodate RVs up to 60 feet long. There also is a primitive group camp that accommodates up to 40 guests and two group camps with five standard campsites in each. Group camp reservation may be made by calling (888) CAMPOUT or (888) 226-7688. BP Heron Center Looking for a spectacular site to hold your next event? The prime beachfront setting, coupled with the magnificent log cabin architecture, of the BP Heron Center is sure to inspire. The center is a gorgeous facility and perfectly suited for educational programs, retreats, parties, weddings, fundraisers and more. It accommodates more than 100 guests inside and more than 150 guests under the covered patio and surrounding grounds. The center is available year round for rentals. For more information on rentals, call (360) 371-2800 or email bpheroncenter@gmail.com Birch Bay State Park is a unique park as it features both saltwater and freshwater shorelines. This 194-acre camping park has 8,255 feet of saltwater shoreline on Birch Bay and 14,923 feet of freshwater shoreline on Terrell Creek. The Terrell Creek Marsh is one of the few remaining saltwater/ freshwater estuaries in north Puget Sound. The park features nearly 2 miles of beach and great views of the Canadian Gulf Islands and the Cascade Mountains. The park is rich in archeological significance and a natural game sanctuary is at the park’s north end. The park offers a variety of recreational activities, including wind surfing, boating, fishing, bird watching, crabbing, clamming and hiking. The park is 10 miles south of Blaine, Wash., near the Canadian border.
