This special recreation area is composed of 30,000 acres of salt left from an ancient ice age. Located just 120 miles west of Salt Lake City, this area is known for unique recreation activists and special events like the Bonneville Speed Week where drivers from around the country come to race their vehicles. Anyone is allowed to drive out on the salt flats in dry conditions and encouraged to explore this unique feature.
