ear-round adventure awaits – golf,
hike, bike, camp, horseback ride,
snowmobile, ride ATVs, fish, cross-country ski
and snowshoe in the spectacular setting of
Wasatch Mountain State Park.
During spring, summer and fall, reserve
a tee time at one of four, 18-hole golf
courses. Throughout winter, cross-country
ski, snowshoe or snowmobile through alpine
terrain. The park is tucked away in Utah’s
beautiful Heber Valley, its 23,000 acres
poised on the east slope of the Wasatch
Mountains at an elevation of 5,900 feet.
Explore
G
et directions, maps, brochures, travel guides and
area information at the visitor center. Learn about
the history of Midway or enjoy the scenic picnic area and
children’s fishing pond.
Cottonwood, Oak and Soldier Hollow group day-use
pavilions offer tables, benches, grills, restrooms, sinks
and electricity for groups up to 100 people. A volleyball
area, horseshoe pits and parking are also available.
Bring your binoculars and cameras and view an
abundance of wildlife. Wasatch Mountain is home
to mule deer, elk, moose, mountain lions, raccoons,
beavers, sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, bobcats, redtailed hawks, coyotes, barn owls and golden eagles.
Visit Huber Grove, which is on the National Register of
Historic Places. Settled and built by Johannes Huber,
the grove is rich with culture, architecture and natural
beauty. This historic site is one of the area’s best
examples of early pioneer life. Stroll the self-guided
nature trail through an aspen grove and 130-year old
orchard. Visit during the harvest months and pick a
basket of apples to take home.
Become a Junior Ranger! Children six through 12 are
invited to weekly, in-season programs to learn about
nature. By completing fun events and activities, children
may earn a badge and certificate.
Explore the Dutch Hollow Trail system on foot, horseback
or mountain bike. This non-motorized trail complex
offers 19 miles of trails with more than 13 miles open
to equestrians.
Off-highway vehicle (OHV) riding opportunities abound
along the nearly 30 miles of trails and roads within
the park with access to another 30 on adjacent USDA
Forest Service lands. Rent an OHV and take a guided
tour or explore on your own. Lofty Peaks, an in-park
concession, offers ATV rentals. For information on

Golf
P
lay the Gold and Silver courses of Soldier Hollow or the
Lake and Mountain courses of Wasatch Mountain.
Located at the south end of the Wasatch Mountain
complex, Soldier Hollow was a major venue during the
2002 Olympic Winter Games. Two 18-hole courses,
named Gold and Silver, offer challenging play and
beautiful views of Heber Valley.
The Mountain and Lake courses, located at the northern
end of the park, are consistently ranked among the
most popular, affordable and scenic in Utah. Nationally,
Golf Digest rated Wasatch Mountain as one of Utah’s
Best Places to Play.
Both Soldier Hollow and Wasatch Mountain amenities
include full-service pro shops, driving ranges, practice
greens and full restaurant services.

At the northern end, ski the groomed
7.2-mile Nordic ski track with diagonal
stride and skating lanes. Skiers of all
abilities will enjoy both flat and hilly
terrain, with views of Heber Valley
farms and mountains. Rent Nordic skis
from the Wasatch Mountain Clubhouse
or snowshoes at the visitor center.

Vandalism - It is unlawful to mutilate or deface any
natural or constructed feature or structure. Please help
keep our parks beautiful.
Speed limit - The speed limit within the park is 15 m.p.h.
unless otherwise posted.
Waste water - It is unlawful to dump or drain waste
water onto the ground. Utility sinks and a sanitary
disposal station are provided for your convenience.
Quiet hours - 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Plants and animals – It is unlawful to remove or
destroy any plant, animal, mineral or other natural
features in state parks.
Firearms - Possession or use of firearms, traps or
other devices capable of launching a projectile that
can immobilize, injure or kill a person or animal, or
damage property is prohibited unless the weapon or
device is 1) unloaded and packed away to prevent its
use, 2) being used for legal pursuit of wildlife or 3)
being used by authorized enforcement officers in the
performance of official duties.

site in the Cottonwood, Mahogany and Oak Hollow loops of the Pine Creek Campground
offers a picnic table, barbecue grill, paved parking pad, water and electricity. Modern restrooms
with showers and sewage disposal station are also provided.
Large groups will enjoy the solitude of the Chalet. This ranch-style building offers a full kitchen,
folding banquet tables and chairs, and restrooms. Outside, everyone will enjoy the baseball
diamond, volleyball, additional picnic tables and space for RV and tent camping.

For a more secluded and primitive experience, Little Deer Creek Campground offers sites with
tent pads, picnic tables, firepits or grills, drinking water and modern restrooms. Electricity and
showers are not available. Those with off-highway vehicles may ride directly to and from the
campground.

Explore Pine Creek, Snake Creek and American Fork canyons by snowmobile. Facilities
include parking, restrooms, designated play areas and approximately 90 miles of
maintained snowmobile trails. Warming stations are available at the golf course
clubhouse and visitor center. Snowmobile rentals, equipment and tours are available

Soldier Hollow offers a tubing park with two lifts and several lanes up to 1,200 feet
long. Enjoy the 31-kilometer trail system for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In
addition to the trail system, a state-of-the-art biathlon range is available for a variety
of activities. Nordic ski and snowshoe rentals are offered through the Solider Hollow
