Broken glass and fishing tackle can cause serious injury to bare feet. • Loud music is prohibited. Respect your fellow park visitors. Excessive noise can ruin your neighbor’s outdoor experience. • Stop the spread of invasive species. CLEAN, DRAIN and DRY your boat. © 2021 TPWD PWD MP P4503-019F (2/21) Screened Shelters • Gathering firewood is prohibited. Dead wood is an important source of food and shelter to wildlife and it replenishes nutrients in the soil. • The posted speed limit is 30 MPH on Park Road 47 and 10 MPH in the camping and day-use loops. Help protect your family, park wildlife resources and other visitors by adhering to the posted speed limit. TPWD receives funds from the USFWS. Water and Electric Sites Dump Station • Persons under 18 years old are not permitted to ride in the back of a pickup truck. This state law was enacted to provide for child safety. Ice, firewood, T-shirts, caps and one-of-a-kind gift items are available at the headquarters building. Water Only Sites • Public consumption or display of any alcoholic beverage is prohibited. All outdoor areas within the park are “public.” • Boating is permitted at wakeless speeds only between the boat ramp and designated swimming area. Excessive wake can disturb wildlife and pose a hazard to non-motorized boaters. Texas State Parks Store Showers Full Hookup Sites • Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet and must not be left unattended. This keeps them and others safe while protecting wildlife. 32 31 Restrooms • An extra vehicle fee is required at each campsite with more than two vehicles (including trailers). • Only one camping unit per site is permitted to hook up to utilities. 34 37 State Park Store • A valid permit must be displayed on the windshield of all vehicles in the park. • Black water and gray water can only be discharged at the dump station. This water carries bacteria that can spread serious illnesses and food particles that can attract undesirable animals, including fire ants. 41 LEGEND • Camping is permitted in designated, numbered sites only. Camping at designated sites helps protect fragile vegetation and minimizes soil compaction. • Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and guests who do not have a camping permit must leave the park by 10 p.m. Respect your fellow campers. Excessive noise can ruin your neighbor’s outdoor experience. 30 4 Towash Shelter Loop #BetterOutside Headquarters • All vehicles must remain on the pavement. This protects the park’s fragile vegetation and minimizes soil compaction and erosion. 25 1 3 4 #TxStateParks As a state park, the primary focus of this site is to provide recreational opportunities while maintaining public safety and protecting fragile park resources. Help us to protect this special place and provide for everybody’s enjoyment by following some simple guidelines: • A maximum of eight people are permitted per campsite. Overcrowding damages vegetation, increases soil compaction and often leads to noise problems.
