Welcome to Whittaker Creek Recreation Area!
This quiet recreation site offers family camping in a wooded riverside area. A 2.5 mile moderately
difficult hiking trail winds through old growth Douglas fir and climbs 1,000 feet above the campground
and the Siuslaw River. The campground has 31 sites and includes vault toilets, potable water, picnic
areas, a children’s play area, horseshoe pits, and a summer swimming area.
Know before you go
open hours: The day use area and campground are open from Memorial Day
to Labor Day. This is a first-come, first served campground opportunity.
fees: There is no fee for day-use. Camping is $10 per site and $5 for each extra
vehicle.
pets are allowed but must be leashed (max. 6 feet) in the parking lot. Please
dispose all pet waste in trash receptacles.
directions
Whittaker Creek is located in Lane County, west of Eugene, off of Highway 105 on
the banks of the Siuslaw River. Travel west from Eugene on Highway 105 through
the forested foothills of the Coast Range. Turn left on Siuslaw Road (about 40 miles).
Travel 3 miles, watch for signs to the campground located on your right.

The area is home to one of Oregon’s premier
salmon spawning grounds. Here, annual
runs of chinook, coho salmon, and steelhead
can be in the fall, winter, and spring.
